Neuropathology

Tox Path Specialists is an industry leader in the field of neuropathology, specializing in studies with direct delivery administrations such as intrathecal, intracerebroventricular, and more. Dr. Butt and the other staff pathologists at TPS have years of experience in evaluating the complex effects of direct delivery administration on the nervous system, in addition to general toxicology evaluations.

Neurohistology

A thorough examination of the nervous system often requires a set of specialized processing and/or staining procedures, each designed to reveal more detail about a specific component of the brain, spinal cord, ganglia or nerves. Tox Path Specialists will work to design a study that incorporates the necessary processing needed to ensure our clients obtain their study objectives and avoid the expenses of having to repeat studies. Techniques include standard toxicology staining, immunohistochemical procedures, processing of frozen sections, and resin embedding (plastics). ​

Stereology and Morphometry

In addition to the company’s capabilities listed above, Tox Path Specialists is also a fully capable stereology and morphometry laboratory. These quantitative assessments are used to supplement the neuropathology investigations in order to form a comprehensive interpretation of studies. Stereology/Morphometry investigations performed at Tox Path Specialists include counting and measuring cells, determining region of interest area/volume, intraepidermal nerve fiber density, and more.
